public art and outdoor sculpture in steel
Here is the model imposed onto a pic of the site.

The finished work will be 10x10 feet and the sign will be tilted up to 3 feet tall. The male pedestrian is 7 feet tall and the female just over 6 feet.

The original inspiration for this piece came from Sabino High School advanced art student Sarah Schwartz. She designed a sculpture around a single pedestrian sign where the diamond was horizontal with a wave to it and the pedestrian was walking on the surface. Jason riffed off of her design to use the school crossing sign with one figure fully 3-D and the other being lifted up. The concept is that the figures are coming to life and are finally free to explore the world. Ideas about sharing and saving others are also appropriate in the female's helping the male up.
