I race direct the Flagstaff to Grand Canyon Stagecoach Line 100 Mile 55k and Relays — a foot race from Flagstaff, AZ, to Tusayan, AZ, on the Arizona Trail. As tradition has it, solo 100-mile finishers receive a belt buckle when they cross the finish line. Our event was looking for a way to showcase Arizona in that award. That's when I was introduced to Jason Butler. He suggested that he could fabricate a buckle made from Arizona copper and due to the way he individually crafts each buckle, each would have its own individual characteristics — a beautiful piece of art. Jason's work does not disappoint. Today runners come from all over the world to finish our event so that they can return home with one of Stagecoach's coveted buckles.
I also appreciate that it's easy and affordable to work with Jason. He's a local artist, based in Tucson, AZ. He's fast to return an email, gets the buckles built to order in a timely fashion, and can even do a rush order if necessary. Thanks Jason!
